Short answer
A fake Reverso Tribute Grande Date is a copy of a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. The real watch turns in a cradle on machined rails and carries an in-house Swiss caliber. Copies sell from $80 to $600. They match the outline. They do not match the movement, the steel, or the reversing action. Run three checks first: slide the case, watch the date pass midnight, and read the dial print under a loupe.
One naming note. Jaeger-LeCoultre sells Reverso Tribute models with small seconds, Duoface, and chronograph dials. Grande Date is a separate Reverso family, sold from about 2004. Listings that use both names in one line mix two products. Ask for the reference number stamped on the caseback.

Dial
Tribute dials have applied numerals, a railroad minute track, and a printed logo. Genuine print has sharp edges at 10x. Copy print looks thick and the logo sits low. Hands are the third check. Genuine hands are polished on all faces. Copy hands are polished on top and matte on the sides.
Big date
A big date uses two discs. The genuine module snaps both digits at the same moment. Copy modules move the tens disc first, then the units disc. Set the time to 11:58 PM and watch. This test needs no tools.
Movement
Jaeger-LeCoultre builds calibers in Le Sentier, Switzerland. Reverso movements run at 21,600 or 28,800 vibrations per hour. Copies use a Seagull ST series, a Hangzhou movement, a Miyota, or quartz. A copy rotor shows stamped text, no Geneva stripes, and screws with soft slots.
Weight and strap
Weight is a screen, not a proof. A steel Reverso on a leather strap sits in a narrow band. Copies run 10 g to 25 g lighter. Copy clasps use stamped steel and a hinge with play.
Price bands
Copy listings run $80 to $600. Top copies offer a sapphire crystal, an automatic movement, and a leather strap. Genuine Reverso Tribute list prices start near $7,000 in steel and pass $25,000 in gold. Discounts on a genuine piece come from a dealer record, not from a listing page.

- Weigh the watch against the same reference in steel.
Limits
Copy makers change specs between batches. Photos on a listing page do not prove what ships. A watchmaker with a caseback tool settles the question. Jaeger-LeCoultre does not service or authenticate counterfeits. Customs agencies in the US, the EU, and Switzerland seize counterfeit watches at import.
